He earned a B.F.A. in fine art and journalism from the University of Michigan, and has done projects in New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles. He returned to his roots in Western New York where he has been active in a variety of activities. Awarded an M.F.A. in visual studies at the University at Buffalo in 2016, Collins has consistently produced intriguing work and offered workshops in his unique process.
